This is the InstantGameBox 2048 daily challenge: a Classic 4x4 with one seed for the UTC date. Everyone who opens this page today starts from the same two tiles. The merge rules are the original ones — slide, merge once per tile, a new 2 or 4 after every real move. The difference is fairness. A random Classic game at /2d/puzzle/2048 is yours alone. Today's board is shared.
The goal is posted in the game: reach a 2048 tile, or hit a score a 4x4 can actually make. We do not generate a blocked opening. The first two tiles come from the same deterministic spawn the engine always uses. If you want a different puzzle tomorrow, wait for the UTC date to change. This URL does not.
There is no archive of yesterday and no date in the address. Bookmarks stay here. Your best score for today is stored on this browser's player cookie. You do not need an account. When accounts exist later, the same player record can attach.
Play with swipe, the pad, or arrows. Undo is available if you want a move back. When the board locks, the run is checked on the server from the replay — the score you see is the score the moves produce.

What is the 2048 daily challenge?
A Classic 4x4 that uses one seed for the UTC date. Everyone starts from the same two tiles and can compare the run.
When does the daily 2048 reset?
At midnight UTC. The public page does not change. Only the seed and today's goal update.
Is it a different URL each day?
No. The challenge always lives at /2d/puzzle/2048-daily. There is no date in the address and no archive of past days.
Do I need an account to play?
No. A visitor cookie remembers this browser. Your score for today is stored on that player record.
How is this different from Classic 2048?
Classic at /2d/puzzle/2048 is a new random board every run. Daily is the same board for everyone until the UTC date changes.
